Changing your view on neurodiversity
Welcome
Hi, I’m Ellie Kay — late diagnosed ADHDer, CMC Mediator, Trainer, Speaker and Coach.
I’ve always known my brain worked a bit differently, but ADHD in women wasn't recognised in the 90s so I was constantly getting told off for talking and losing things.
However I went to Uni, got a 2:1 in pschology and by 27 I’d launched my first business.- a recruitment agency which turned over £1.8m. I then went on to run three more businesses, including a subcontractor in construction and a headhunting firm that I ran for over a decade. I was also on "The Apprentice" in 2011 (still living off those 5 weeks of fame)!
But life hasn’t been straightforward. At 29 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer which left me infertile. I was divorced at 34. Through it all I kept going, but I carried plenty of shame and self-criticism along the way. I am now happily married with 2 children.
Getting my ADHD diagnosis at 45 was when it finally clicked. I could look back, forgive myself for the mistakes of the past (and the ones I still make), and see things in a new light. That new found self compassion made me want to change my career and help others find the same acceptance.
Now I use my career, credentials and lived experience to coach, train, speak and mediate. I work with women to build their self awareness and confidence, and with workplaces to understand different brains and create an environment where people can do their best work.
My mission is simple. To remove the stigma around neurodiversity and show how, with the right understanding and support, it can be a positive for everyone
Let’s Talk
Business Owner, Leaders & HR Teams - would you like me to help relieve the headache of neurodiversity in the workplace through training, coaching, & workshops. Or pehaps you have a mediation which requires specialist knowledge.
ADHD & AuDHD Women - would you like my help to feel more confident going forward in work and in life?
