About & Approach

I’m Ellie Kay, Speaker, ICF trained Coach and CMC accredited Workplace Mediator.

I do not speak using theory or statistics, instead I use storytelling.

I have built and scaled multiple recruitment and construction businesses, leading teams through the 2008 recession, Covid and periods of significant growth. I understand pressure because I have operated inside it.

In 2011 I sat in the BBC One The Apprentice boardroom under scrutiny from Sir Alan Sugar and millions of viewers. That experience taught me more about self doubt and resilience than any qualification ever could.

At 29 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer which left me infertile. At 45 I received a late ADHD diagnosis that finally made sense of a lifetime of intensity and drive.

These experiences, both personal and professional, shape how I speak, mediate and coach today.

I believe resilience is not about pretending things are easy. It is about understanding yourself properly, staying steady under pressure and choosing to move forward.

The Three Pillars That Guide My Work:

1. Changing the View on Neurodivergence

To move the conversation away from deficit and towards strength. I work with organisations to help them understand ADHD and AuDHD properly so talented people are not misunderstood, pushed into burnout or drawn into unnecessary grievance processes.

I also support individuals to lean into their strengths while building support around the areas that feel harder. When people understand themselves, performance improves and shame reduces.

2. Conversation Not Conflict

Most workplace conflict is not about bad intent. It is pressure, assumption and different communication styles colliding.

I help teams replace judgement with curiosity and create space for honest conversation before issues escalate. When people feel heard and understood, trust builds and tension reduces.

3. Reducing Self Doubt and Building Resilience

Impostor syndrome thrives in silence.

Through speaking, coaching and mediation, I help people normalise self doubt, navigate pressure and develop steadiness under stress.

You only get one life. Living it constantly questioning your worth limits potential. Building resilience changes how you lead, work and live.
